old-Summer Program
The Stanford Radiology AI Development and Evaluation (AIDE) Lab Summer Internship Program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students passionate about artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and the clinical application of AI tools. This program offers hands-on experience in AI research, model development, performance evaluation, and monitoring, providing an opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers. Interns will gain practical knowledge, contribute to innovative projects, and enhance their technical and problem-solving skills.
If you are passionate about clinical radiology and AI development techniques, we encourage you to apply for this 10-week internship program, starting the week of June 16th through August 22nd. Please note that this internship is in-person only, and all interns will be expected to be in Palo Alto, CA for the full duration of the program. Funding support via a stipend will be available to Stanford students but may be limited for non-Stanford students.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled or recently graduated from a four-year college or university in computer science, biological sciences, health sciences, medicine, bioinformatics, or applicable fields. Visa restrictions may apply for international students.
Applicants must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Applicants must be over the age of 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with programming, including a strong knowledge of Python, experience with PyTorch and familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
- General understanding of machine learning and AI fundamentals, including supervised and unsupervised learning, experience with model training and evaluation, and knowledge of neural networks and deep learning architectures.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Knowledge of testing and debugging techniques
- Proficiency in using pandas, NumPy, and data visualization tools
- Familiarity with Github and cloud computing platforms
- Ability to quickly learn and work under deadlines with general guidance.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
- Relevant research experience demonstrating ability to conduct scientific research and writing.
- Strong ability to work on a team, stay organized, and respond to feedback
